YANGON, May 3 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese embassy in Myanmar donated five vehicles to the Myanmar Peace Commission Friday for use in its peace undertakings.
The handover ceremony of the Volvo vehicles was held at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC) in Yangon.
Chinese Ambassador Hong Liang said that the donation of the vehicles aims to help the commission raise its work efficiency and better carry out its peace responsibility.
Hong expressed China's willingness to mediate between organizations as a constructive approach in the country's peace process. The effective cooperation between China and Myanmar has added to the significance of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, and further promoted the fraternal friendship between the two peoples, he said.
Thanking China for the donation, Chairman of Myanmar's Peace Commission Dr. Tin Myo Win said the donation showed support to the country's peace process.
