YANGON, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar and China will jointly produce a film about Bagan ancient city later this year, featuring artists from both countries for the first time.

Speaking at a press conference held Tuesday at Yangon's China Cultural Center, Li Xiaoyan, Charge d'Affaires of China's Embassy in Myanmar, said that the to-be-produced film would promote Myanmar's tourism sector and strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

The shooting of the film titled "Bagan's treasure trove" will begin in October this year.

U Thein Naing, director of Myanmar Motion Picture Development Department under the Information Ministry, expressed his belief that the film could attract interest from international movie society as well as develop mutual friendship between the two peoples.

The "Bagan's treasure trove" film is about a Chinese young man who goes to Myanmar to find a treasure trove and his hilarious and exciting experience in the country.

The film is produced by the cooperation of Myanmar's Brave Empire Entertainment, China's Beijing Trawind Division, Beijing Good Fortune Capital and Myanmar International Travel Asia.

The film will be screened in China, Myanmar and other Southeast Asian countries.

Meanwhile, the China Cultural Center also hosted a photo exhibition titled "Our Silk Road" featuring 60 selected photos from 8,000 works by photographers who took part in the 5th World Photography Conference.

Scheduled to last until mid-May this year, the photos, four of them shot in Myanmar, are being displayed with eight topics.
