YANGON, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- A 5.1-magnitude earthquake has jolted Myanmar's southern Bago region on Wednesday, the meteorology and hydrology department said in a statement.
The quake struck at 16:58 local time (1028 GMT), the statement said.
Its epicenter was 9.7 km north of Paukkhaung and 93 km west of Taungoo seismological observatory in the region.
"No further information about damage is reported yet," an official from the Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Ministry told Xinhua.
