COLOMBO, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena on Monday left for an official visit to Japan to attend the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, his office said in a statement.
Sirisena will join other world leaders for the ceremony which will be held in Tokyo on Tuesday.
During his stay in Tokyo, President Sirisena will also hold discussions with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and will meet with several heads of different states participating in the official ceremony.
This visit is President Sirisena's third official visit to Japan since assuming office.
