WINDHOEK, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Namibia were drawn in Group A of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers set to commence in October with the preliminary round.
The announcement was made Thursday evening and Namibia were drawn in Group A alongside Mali and Guinea, and they wait for the fourth team which will come from the preliminary match between Liberia and Chad.
Namibia, who recently returned from the 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt finished bottom of Group D, will be looking to make a come back at the continental showpiece, the Namibia Football Association website said.
The 48 teams that will compete in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers will be divided into 12 groups of four teams each and the top two sides from each group will go to the continental showpiece in Cameroon.
