PRAGUE, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis met his Romanian counterpart Viorica Dancila here on Friday, reiterating his support for Romania's accession to the Schengen area.
The two prime ministers also talked about current European issues including Brexit, migration, and European budget, according to the Czech government.
Babis thanked Romania for its presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) and stressed that this is not an easy task given the forthcoming European Parliament elections, the deterioration of the EU's trade relations with the United States, and the planned departure of the UK from the Union.
Economic cooperation was also discussed in their talks. Romania is the Czech Republic's largest trading partner in southeastern Europe. Czech companies also invest in Romania, including in the field of renewable energy.
