KATHMANDU, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and two others seriously injured in an explosion outside a mobile network operator company in Nepal's third largest city of Lalitpur, a police spokesperson said on Saturday.
The victims were passing by the main entrance of the Ncell mobile network operator company when the incident happened in Nakkhu area in Lalitpur on Friday night, Police Spokesperson Uttam Raj Subedi told Xinhua on Saturday.
One of the victims passed away during treatment in a local hospital. Two other injured are under treatment, police authorities said.
Subedi said that they have arrested six suspects in connection with the blast and investigation is underway. "No one has claimed responsibility for the blast," he said, adding that a special squad of police has been deployed to launch the probe into the incident.
Nepali Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa visited the injured and pledged to bear expenses for their treatment, according to Home Ministry officials.
Ncell is mostly owned by Malaysia-based Axiata Group.
Meanwhile, corporate offices of the Ncell mobile network operator company located in four other places of Nepal were also targeted by an unidentified group on Friday night.
