YANGON, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Normalcy has returned to Thayet town in Myanmar's central Magway region due to a quarrel that nearly sparked a riot, according to the Information and Public Relations Department of the Information Ministry Sunday.
The quarrel occurred on Friday at 6:30 p.m. local time between drunk revelers and a car owner whose car window was smashed while parking in front of his own teashop.
The quarrel was under control and 16 people were injured and being treated at a local hospital.
With peace and tranquility returning to the town, the car owner has filed a case at local police station for the smashed car window.
Police said it was not a religious conflict and they would continue to investigate.
