RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Rio de Janeiro's iconic Maracana stadium will host five matches during next year's Copa America in Brazil, including the final on July 7, the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) said on Tuesday.

The tournament, which will begin at Sao Paulo's Morumbi stadium on June 14, will also feature matches at Salvador's Arena Fonte Nova, Porto Alegre's Arena do Gremio, Belo Horizonte's Mineirao stadium and Sao Paulo's Arena Corinthians.

All of the venues except the Morumbi stadium were used during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The tournament hosts will play two of their group matches in Sao Paulo and the other in Salvador. The competition draw will be held in Rio de Janeiro on January 24.

The Copa America is the world's oldest continental football tournament, dating back to 1916.

Chile have secured the past two titles, having won it for the first time as hosts in 2015 before defending their crown in the centenary edition in the United States a year later.
