KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and 40 others injured in a road accident which happened in Daman district of southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province on Monday, a police official said on condition of anonymity.
A passenger bus collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction Monday afternoon, leaving more than 40 dead and injured, he said.
Qayum Pukhla, the head of provincial health department in Kandahar city, confirmed that three dead bodies and 40 injured persons including women and children had been taken to hospital, with some in critical condition.
