JAKARTA, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia plans to assign more junior athletes to the 30th South East Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines with intensive training next month, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla said here on Friday.
"The junior athletes playing in the SEA Games will be fully supported by the senior athletes," the vice president said.
"The intensive training will be conducted in national training centers, and we will send them to take part in sport competitions in foreign countries," he added.
Indonesia was ranked no. 5 in 2017 SEA Games held in Malaysia, its worst performance in the history of the biennial regional sports event that began in 1977.
