ISTANBUL, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police on Thursday detained at least 12 people in Istanbul for their suspected links to the Islamic State (IS) militant group, local media reported.
Police launched simultaneous operations in 15 different locations across the city to capture the suspects, the private Demiroren news agency said.
The detainees were allegedly seeking to recruit new members and supply logistic support for the group, the agency said.
More than 300 people were killed in deadly attacks in Turkey over the years blamed on the IS.
