Japan and Mexico make quarterfinals at FIFA Women's U-17 World Cup

BEIJING, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Japan and Mexico both sealed tickets to the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018 quarterfinals after drawing their final Group B fixture 1-1, according to the official website of FIFA on Wednesday.

Also in Group B, Brazil recorded a comfortable victory over South Africa 4-1 but it was not enough to keep them in the competition.

In Group A, Ghana overcame New Zealand 2-0 in a clash of two teams already assured of their spot in the last eight, while Finland and tournament hosts Uruguay bowed out with a 1-1 draw.
