JERUSALEM, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli southern city of Ashdod will establish the first autonomous bus system in the Jewish country after an agreement with Singapore's ST Engineering company, the financial website Calcalist reported Tuesday.
According to the agreement, tests will be conducted in Ashdod using the sensors and algorithms of the city's autonomous driving system, the report said.
The Israeli company Blue White Robotics, which has created an accurate digital map of the city, will run the experiments, it added.
The system is expected to come into operation by 2020, according to the report.
