ANKARA, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on late Friday talked with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud by phone over the disappearance of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
During the phone conversation, the two leaders stressed the importance of full cooperation in the probes of the case.
They shared information on the investigation being jointly conducted by Saudi Arabia and Turkey, Anadolu quoted presidential sources as saying.
Jamal Khashoggi, a columnist for the U.S. Washington Post, has been missing since he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.
Unconfirmed reports said Khashoggi was likely killed inside the compound, which was denied by Saudi officials as "baseless."
