BANGKOK, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and visiting Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong agreed to further enhance the cooperation between Thailand and China during their meeting here on Friday.
Wang, who came to attend the 6th Conference of China-Thailand Joint Trade Committee in Bangkok, conveyed the sincere greetings of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Prayut.
He said to Prayut that China-Thailand relations are very vibrant and bilateral cooperation in all fields have borne fruits due to the joint efforts of Xi and Prayut.
China is willing to work with Thailand to implement agreements reached by the leaderships from the two countries, to dock Belt and Road Initiative with Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, to drive major projects such as China-Thailand railway forward, and to further promote China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new heights, Wang said.
He added that China welcomes Thai enterprises to attend the first China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai in November.
Prayut thanked Wang and asked him to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
The Thai prime minister said Thailand attaches great importance to Thailand-China friendship and always support the Belt and Road Initiative and is willing to be a part of it.
Prayut added that Thailand is willing to work with China to promote ASEAN-China cooperation, to boost prosperity in both countries and the region, and to enhance cooperation on investment, education, science and technology, infrastructure, e-commerce, among others.
He also said to Wang that Thailand welcomes Chinese enterprises to join the implementation of the EEC project to extend practical cooperation between the two countries.
The EEC project, covering three southeastern Thai provinces, namely Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong, aims at developing the area into a leading economic zone in Thailand and in the region.
