HANOI, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam has finally earned the rights to broadcast the 2018 Asian Games starting on Wednesday.
The broadcast rights cover TV channels, smart phones and applications on smart TVs, as well as radio channels.
Earlier, the national broadcaster Vietnam Television failed to buy the broadcast rights due to high prices. Now, the prices have fallen, according to local media insiders.
A total of 352 Vietnamese athletes are competing in 32 of the 40 sports at the 2018 Asian Games which kicked off on Aug. 18 in Indonesia.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Vietnam is ranked 16th in the medal table, with three silvers and four bronze medals.
