PALEMBANG, Indonesia, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- The unified team from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and South Korean put up a disappointing performance in the rowing qualification round here in the 2018 Asian Games Sunday.
Contested in Palembang, capital city of Indonesian South Sumatra Province, the team clocked a time of 7:12.74 in Heat 1 of men's 2,000-meter lightweight four race to finish at the bottom of the heat.
The team, consisting of DPRK's Yun Chol-jin, Hong Hun and South Korea's Kim Su-min and Park Tae-hyun, finished the race behind Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong of China.
Meanwhile, in Heat 2, China topped the race in a time of 6:45.68, followed by India and Vietnam.
China and Indonesia have booked their places in Thursday's Final A, while the other 5 teams will contest in Tuesday's Repechage to vie for another Final A berth.
The DPRK and South Korea have two more unified teams in rowing's lightweight men's eight and women's double sculls.
The DPRK and South Korea field unified teams in three sports at the Asian Games, namely rowing, women's basketball and dragon boat.
