PARIS, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Paris Saint-Germain Friday announced the arrival of Chinese women's midfielder Wang Shuang after the two sides have signed a two-year contract that will see Wang join the club until June 30, 2020.

Wang passed the medical check on Friday afternoon in Shenzhen, China, where PSG men's team prepared for their French Super Cup match against Monaco on Saturday.

Wang, 23, is considered to be one of the strongest talents in Chinese women's football. After having started her career with the Wuhan team in 2012, the Chinese international, scoring 19 goals in 80 appearances, gained experience in the South Korean league with Daejon Sportstoto before returning to the Chinese league.

In 2015, Wang was part of the Chinese team that competed at the World Cup in Canada. On December 16, 2015, she was the only goalscorer in a historic victory in New Orleans against the United States that ended the latter's 104-match unbeaten run, which had dated back to 2004.

In 2016, the promising midfielder signed for Dalian Quanjian, a club at which she would go on to win two Chinese League titles in 2016 and 2017. In January 2018, she returned to Wuhan after having been elected the best Chinese player of 2017.

"I feel quite proud that PSG have chosen me," Wang told Xinhua after signing her contract.

"I will not dwell too much on the future, but focus on my opportunities now," she added.

Wang, whose arrival in Paris came one year ahead of the Women's World Cup in France, said that it would help her better adjust to the environment.

"I can get used to Paris one year ahead of time. It will be of much help for my World Cup campaign. Also, I have a strong faith in the Chinese team at the World Cup," she said.

"We are very happy to welcome Wang Shuang into the Paris Saint-Germain family. She is a very talented young player, one of the best in her position.

"She becomes the first female Chinese player to wear a Parisian shirt. She joins our team with a lot of ambition," said Bruno Cheyrou, Sporting Director of the PSG women's team.
