TOKYO, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened flat on Thursday amid renewed trade tensions.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 37.19 points, or 0.16 percent, from Wednesday to 22,709.51.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 2.08 points, or 0.12 percent, at 1,771.84.
Gainers were led by pulp and paper, electric appliance and land transportation issues, while decliners were led by oil and coal products, mining and nonferrous metal issues. Enditem
