BELGRADE, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Serbian Spartak Subotica stunned the Czech Sparta Praha 2-0 at home on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League qualifications.
Football fans at the Karadjordje stadium in Novi Sad witnessed the first game between Spartak Subotica and Sparta Praha in history - fourth ranked in Serbian Superleague and 5th in the Czech First League in 2017/18 season respectively.
Sparta Praha dominated the first half but created no good chances.
The home team on the other hand managed to make use of opponent's cautious play, and Nemanja Calasan managed to bring the lead in the 9th minute.
In the 58th minute, Ognjen Djuricin doubled the lead after a fast exchange of passes in front of the Czech team's goal.
The two teams played even 5 minutes of additional time, during which the Czech team made several dangerous attempts.
However, the Serbian team will have to keep the lead in the second leg to be played in Prague next week.
Winners of the tie will play against Brondby in the third qualifying round. Enditem
