JOHANNESBURG, July 26 (Xinhua) -- BRICS leaders will commence the full operationalization of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR), according to a declaration released here on Thursday.
The emerging-market bloc of BRICS, which groups Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, issued the 10th BRICS Summit Johannesburg Declaration.
"An Advisory Group will be set up, comprising of respective representatives of BRICS Ministries of Industry, in consultation with appropriate Ministries," it said.
The first step is to submit the Terms of Reference and a Work Plan aligned with the 4th Industrial Revolution priorities to the BRICS Chair, according to the document.
The PartNIR aims at deepening BRICS cooperation in digitalization, industrialization, innovation, inclusiveness and investment, to maximize the opportunities and address the challenges arising from the 4th Industrial Revolution, said the declaration.
BRICS leaders believe that the initiative to establish the BRICS Networks of Science Parks, Technology Business Incubators and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises is a promising step in that direction.
