TOKYO, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened higher Tuesday on bargain seeking of market players after recent falls.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 103.20 points, or 0.46 percent, from Monday to 22,500.19.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 10.73 points, or 0.62 percent, at 1,749.43.
Gainers were led by insurance, oil and coal product, and marine transportation issues.
