TOKYO, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday as investors bought back issues on dips following the market closing sharply lower a day earlier.
As of 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 41.21 points, or 0.19 percent, from Monday to 21,853.14.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 2.88 points, or 0.17 percent, at 1,698.17.
Air transportation, service and oil and coal product-related issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
