BERLIN, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Hannover and centre back Timo Huebers have agreed on a contract extension ahead of schedule, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Monday.
The "Reds" have tied talented defender Huebers, whose contract was stipulated until June 2019, for another two years.
"Timo has been plunged in at the deep end in the last Bundesliga games of the season and he has impressively demonstrated that we can count on him in the future. We are very happy that he sees his future in Hannover," sporting director Horst Heldt said.
The homegrown talent wears Hannover jersey since 2008, besides a short spell at Cologne, and made his debut in the first team in April 2018 against Stuttgart. He made ever since five appearances.
"It is a logical step for me to give some trust back with this contract extension ahead of schedule," Huebers said.
Hannover maintained their top-flight status after finishing on the 12th place of the Bundesliga standings.
