NAIROBI, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Kenya will miss out on the services of Spain-based striker Michael Olunga who plays in the La Liga as Harambee Stars head coach Sebastien Migne named 24 players for two friendly matches against Swaziland and Equatorial Guinea in Nairobi next week.
These will be Migne's first two competitive matches to gauge his team's potential. Harambee Stars play Swaziland on May 25 and Equatorial Guinea on May 28.
Migne has also named an additional nine reserve players as a precautionary measure, who may be called upon to replace any of the 24 players in camp if need be.
"We have called up 24 players to camp, both local and foreign-based," said Migne. "However, as a precautionary measure, we have named an additional nine reserve players. They will not report to camp but may be called upon to replace any of the 24 in case of injuries," he added.
The team will report to camp on Monday. "We had called Olunga but had to replace him when it became evident he would not make it for the two matches," said Migne. "We, however, expect him to be part of the squad that will travel to India for the Hero Intercontinental Cup (June 1-10)," added the coach.?
