ISLAMABAD, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Monday showed concern over the shifting of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem that has sparked violent Palestinian protests.
"Pakistan has noted with grave concern that despite calls by the international community to comply with UN General Assembly and Security Council resolutions on the two-state solution, the United States is moving its embassy to the Holy City of Jerusalem," the Foreign Ministry said.
A statement from the Foreign Ministry said the U.S. decision represents a "violation of international law" and several United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The statement said both houses of the Pakistani parliament have earlier voiced their position on the U.S. decision.
