JERUSALEM, May 8 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli military on Tuesday night ordered residents in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights to open the shelters, amidst "suspected movement in Syria," local media reported.
An official statement by the military Homefront Command instructed residents in the Golan, near the border with Syria, to prepare the shelters and stay alert for further instruction.
The unusual instructions came in the wake of a "suspected movement in Syria," Channel 2 TV reported.
The announcement came minutes before U.S. President Donald Trump's statement on whether he will extend the waivers on the Iran nuclear deal.
