TOKYO, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Friday morning following gains made on Wall Street overnight on solid corporate earning and receding concerns about geopolitical tensions regarding a U.S.-led intervention in Syria.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 111.41 points, or 0.51 percent, from Thursday to 21,771.69.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 7.07 points, or 0.41 percent, at 1,725.59.
Marine transportation, bank and securities-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
