DUBAI, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Three-year-old Mendelssohn, ridden by jockey Ryan Moore and owned by Irish trio Derrick Smith, Ms. John Magnier and Michael Tabor, scored a track record to win the fourth race of the Dubai World Cup here on Saturday.
Mendelssohn completed the 1,900 meters race on dirt in one minute and 55.18 seconds.
The two-million dollar United Arab Emirates (UAE) derby saw three American horses passing the finishing line one by one, as Mendelssohn was followed by thoroughbreds Raya and Peride.
China's Yulong Warrior, owned by stables owner Yu Long, finished on the 7th.
The Dubai World Cup which takes place at the Meydan Racecourse is the world's most prestigious series of horse races with a total price money of 30 million dollars.
