JERUSALEM, March 28 (Xinhua) -- A Germania airline plane collided Wednesday with an El Al plane in an on-ground accident in Ben Gurion Airport outside Tel Aviv.
A spokesman for the Israel Airports Authority said no injuries were reported. The passengers were evacuated through the regular stairs back to the terminal, he said.
The Berlin-bound Germania Boeing 737 was pushed back from its position near the terminal ahead of launch when it collided with the tail of Rome-bound El Al 767.
Damage was caused to the planes and they were both grounded. Both flights took off after hours' delay, the airport said.
An investigation was opened into the circumstances of the accident, the spokesman said, adding that according to initial estimates the clash was caused by the driver who pulled the German plane.
