TOKYO, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened marginally higher on Friday as investor sentiment was bolstered by rises on Wall Street overnight.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 37.56 points, or 0.17 percent, from Thursday to 21,774.00.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 3.07 points, or 0.18 percent, at 1,749.24.
Oil and coal product, real estate and construction-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
