WINDHOEK, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Namibia issued a malaria alert Tuesday for the residents and travellers to the northern regions of the country.
The health ministry said in a statement that malaria cases have increased across the southern Africa region in recent years.
Namibia, the statement said, has observed similar increases between in 2015 and 2018 in some regions.
According to the statement, malaria cases have been reported in Ohangwena region, Kavango West region, Oshikoto region and Zambezi region.
The statement said the ministry had sent out teams to spray in all malaria regions between September and mid-December 2017.
"A National coverage of 85 percent was reached during this campaign," the statement said. Enditem
