WINDHOEK, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Namibia is now placed 111th place on the FIFA world rankings, up from 118th in December 2017, according to the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings updated on Thursday.
Namibia moved up seven places in the FIFA world rankings of Jan. 2018, following their victory over Cote d'Ivoire in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2018 tournament.
The victory against Uganda on Thursday was not taken into account as the rankings were published at least seven hours before the match, while in the African rankings Namibia only moved from 31st in Dec. 2017 to 30th in Jan. 2018.
Meanwhile, Namibia will travel to Casablanca on Friday to prepare for their final Group B game against neighbours Zambia pencilled for Jan. 22 in Casablanca.
Currently both country's sit on six points and will lock horns to see which team will top the group, even though both teams have already booked a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Africa Nations Championship.
