MADRID, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona confirmed on Saturday that they have reached a deal with Turkish side Basaksehir to loan them Turkish international winger Arda Turan for the remainder of this season and for two more.
The deal effectively puts an end to Arda's disappointing spell at the Camp Nou following his move from Atletico Madrid two years ago and he has not played one minute of competitive football for the Liga Santander leaders this season.
Although the deal is for two and a half years, Barcelona have retained the right to sell the player to another club during that period if they receive a concrete offer to buy him, although Basksehir have the right to match that offer and make Arda their property.
The departure comes as Barca look to lighten their wage bill following the signings of Phillipe Coutinho and central defender Yerry Mina during the past week and it is thought that veteran defender Javier Mascherano could also abandon the club before the end of January.
