RAMALLAH, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Israeli army forces declared Saturday morning that Nabi Saleh village, north of Ramallah, as a closed military zone, banning access to the village.
Palestinian sources said that the Israeli forces set up road blocks at the village entrances and prohibited Palestinians from entering, including several journalists, who took alternative roads to enter the village.
Only residents of Nabi Saleh village were allowed in, but not out, said the sources.
This comes against the backdrop of calls for peaceful demonstrations by activists from the village and political factions on Saturday, in support of the 16-year-old Ahed Tamimi and her mother Nariman Tamimi, who were incarcerated by Israeli forces last December for slapping an Israeli soldiers who raided her house, after her brother and cousin were seriously injured in clashes.
