BERLIN, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Schalke have signed Marko Pjaca from Italian outfit Juventus until the end of the season, the Bundesliga side confirmed in an official statement on Friday.
The "Royal Blues" have reinforced their offense with the signing of the 22-year-old Croatian international, who has penned a loan deal until summer 2018.
"We are glad that Marko has opted for us, as many clubs were interested in him. He brings more quality into our team and can play on different positions," Schalke head coach Domenico Tedesco said.
Pjaca plays since July 2016 for Juventus where he made only 19 competitive appearances after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in March 2017. Besides, Schalke's loanee is since 2014 part of Croatia's national team and scored one goal in 13 caps.
"It was the best option for me. I like the club and its ambitions. The team played a very good first half of the season and Domenico Tedesco is an excellent coach," Marko Pjaca said.
Runners-up Schalke encounter fifth placed Leipzig at the 18th round of Bundesliga on Saturday.
