YANGON, July 12 (Xinhua) -- A 5.0-magnitude earthquake Thursday hit off Myanmar's southern coast, said the meteorology and hydrology department.
The quake struck at 9:10 a.m. local time (0240 GMT).
Its epicenter was 259 km southwest of Yangon's Kaba Aye seismological observatory.
No further details about the temblor are released so far.
