NEW DELHI, June 11 (Xinhua) -- A moderate earthquake hit India's northeastern state of Assam on Monday, officials said.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the earthquake occurred at 10:23 a.m. (local time) in Nagoan, about 114 km east of Dispur, the capital city of Assam.
"The epicentre of earthquake was located at 26.2 degrees north latitude and 92.5 degrees east longitude," the Indian Meteorological Department said. "The depth of the earthquake was 10 km."
Officials said tremors of the earthquake were felt across the state.
However, there were no immediate reports of any damage or loss of lives in the earthquake.
