YANGON, April 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake of 4.9 magnitude struck Myanmar's northern Mandalay region in the early hours of Monday, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
With its epicenter 9.6 km northeast of Singu, the quake occurred at 00:10 local time (1740 GMT Sunday) with a depth of 5 km.
No report of casualties and damage was immediately available.
