KABUL, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Independent Election Commission (IEC) has reset October 20 for the parliamentary elections, local media reported on Monday.
"The 28th of the month of Mizan, which coincided with October 20, has been set for holding parliamentary elections," the newspaper Daily Outlook said.
Previously, the election body announced July 18 as the date for the parliamentary polls in Afghanistan.
However, the media outlet citing IEC chief Gulajan Bade Sayyad as saying that the "security issues and lack of budget" are the main reasons behind the delay in holding the elections.
