GENEVA, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Geneva International Airport was closed Thursday morning due to heavy snowfall hitting Switzerland overnight.
The airport authority advised passengers on Twitter not to travel to the airport until further notice and to contact their airlines about their flights.
The latest information from the airport showed that takeoffs are scheduled to resume at 11:00 a.m. (GMT 1000) and landings at 12:00 p.m. (GMT 1100).
The snowfall overnight has largely slowed traffic on highways and other roads across the country. As of Thursday morning, the snow showed no signs of stopping.
