BAKU, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Landslide triggered by rain has damaged four houses in the upland Bayil settlement in the Azerbaijani capital Baku on Saturday, officials said.
'Four houses have been completely destroyed. There are no injured as a result of the accident because people were evacuated 15 days ago. No one lives on the territory," Abid Aliyev, head of the Sabail District Executive Authority told local media.
He said the main trigger of landslides was rainfall. "The process continues. Employees of the Ministry for Emergency Situations, seismologists, relevant specialists work in the territory to clarify the situation," he said.
A total of 390 people have been evacuated in an emergency from the landslide zone in the upland Bayil settlement of Baku at the end of January. Authorities have declared some parts as "unsafe" and have evacuated 67 families to safer places.
